Biography

Jane Scanlon is a certified Nature & Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs (ANFT). She leads forest therapy walks at The Garden of the Gods Nature & Visitor Center and volunteers as a naturalist and guide at Mueller State Park in Divide, Colorado. With a background in pastoral ministry, refugee resettlement, and English language education, Jane brings a compassionate and inclusive approach to her nature-based wellness practice. Her guided walks offer participants a gentle, sensory-rich experience in nature that fosters healing, mindfulness, and connection.

Based in Colorado, Jane’s practice, Above the Clouds Forest Bathing, is rooted in the belief that nature affirms life and wellbeing. She helps people slow down, open their senses, and rediscover their place in the web of life. Her work is especially meaningful for those seeking spiritual renewal, emotional resilience, and a deeper relationship with the natural world. Jane is also a passionate conservation advocate, outdoor educator, and lifelong lover of trees. In addition to her professional work, she volunteers with Catamount Institute and is a lifetime member of the Colorado Mountain Club.
